Background[]
Nate is the supervising correctional officer at the county jail where Madea was incarcerated. He was formerly Sonny's boss. Nate and Sonny had a friendship until Sonny found out he was sleeping with his wife and was suspecting the paternity to be Nate's child. Sonny and Madea quarreled with Nate at her place upon finding out Vanessa was cheating with him. Harassment continued at work when Nate tried to get Sonny transferred to a dangerous prison. Later, upon recommendation from the probation officer that witness the harassment to the warden, Nate was to take Sonny's spot in going to that prison and Sonny would be promoted to his position as the correctional supervisor position.
